RMA Policy
 

RMA Policy
Customers wishing to return material to Cyclone Microsystems for any reason must contact the company and request a Return Material Authorization (RMA) number before returning the material. This includes In Warranty, Out of Warranty and evaluation materials being return shipped to Cyclone Microsystems. To obtain an RMA number;

1. Call Cyclone Microsystems Customer Support at (203) 786-5536 or email sales.admin@cyclone.com and request an RMA number. To be issued an RMA number, you will need to identify;

  1. Model number of board (or boards) being returned.
  2. If a set of boards is being returned, (example: a CPCI Intelligent Communications Controller with a PMC module), please provide all of the board model numbers.

  3. Serial numbers of all boards being returned under the requested RMA number.


  4. Type of return;
    • Warranty repair
    • Out of Warranty Repair
    • Return of Evaluation materials
    • Other


  5. Description of the Problem
  6. In the case of a board being returned for repair, a brief description of the problem is required. Also written description of the problem and environment with as much information as possible about the failure conditions should be sent with the board. This will assist Cyclone's repair department in resolving the problem.

  7. Out of Warranty Repair Only
  8. In the case of Out of Warranty repairs a Purchase Order number issued by your organization which is billable for repair charges will also be required. It is recommended that the purchase order have at least a $500 approval level. If Cyclone determines that the repair of the board will exceed $500 the customer will be contacted with a description of the problem and an estimate of the total cost to repair.

Please note: The minimum handling charge will be applied to all boards returned for out of warranty repair. Please see the Out of Warranty Repair Policy for details.

The RMA number is used to insure proper tracking of received materials. Shipments arriving at Cyclone's facility which do not include a Cyclone RMA number will not be accepted.

Out of Warranty Repair Policy
Cyclone Microsystems products which are out of warranty will be repaired at Cyclone's facility under the following terms and conditions.

Customers must obtain an RMA number per the RMA procedure stated above before returning material to Cyclone. Customers must have a purchase order issued by their company before calling for an RMA number. The purchase order number will be required to obtain an RMA number for an out of warranty return for repair.

The Purchase Order number issued by your organization must be billable for repair charges as required. It is recommended that the purchase order have at least a $500 approval level. If Cyclone determines that the repair of the board will exceed $500 the customer will be contacted with a description of the problem and an estimate of the total cost to repair.

Please note: The minimum handling charge will be applied to all boards returned for out of warranty repair. Repair rates and charges are:

Repair Rates and Charges
Minimum Handling Charge $215.00 includes up to 2 hours of test and repair time and return shipping via UPS 3rd day service.
Additional Test Time $65.00 per hour
Materials Required Cyclone's standard cost plus 10%, (misc. materials will typically be covered by minimum handling charge)
Repair Turn Around Time 15 working days typical for general repair, 20 working days typical for products requiring BGA replacements
